Poetry vs Photos

Photos embrace individual moments in a long life, ardently lived and loved.  Pages of documents preserve objective history—recording people, places, and events.  But my poems record the deeper things that cannot be put into words that all the world can understand—simply because there are things which all the world willnever bother to understand.

A way of life

I just rediscovered my love of piano. It was not the piano lessons as a kid or the many friends that played better than me that de-motivated me to study harder, it was just the wrong time. Now, through my daughter’s eyes, I am inspired. Inspired to play a duet with her one day soon.

And what better time to find motivation than with the approaching New Year.

Happy New Year!

This video “says” it all:

I lovEd email

It is true, I am a share-a-holic. I first noticed this tendency when reading a book on vacation. As soon as I would read something super interesting, I needed to talk about it! This need to share was exaccerbated with the popularity of my growing email lists. And so, I am sure, my husband wants to block my email address from all the parenting “tips” I send his way. Now a dedicated blogger and slept well for the first time in years.

WordPress is amazing! A medium for share-a-holics.

Thank you.

Let’s start with a definition

The dictionary definition of Mores follows.  I like the synonym “a way of life…”.

Main Entry: mores
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: traditional customs
Synonyms: attitude, codes, established ways, etiquette, formalities, manners, morals, policies, practices, principles, protocol, rites, rituals, routines, rules, social conduct, standards, way of life

Mores, in sociology, are any given society’s particular normsvirtues, or values.

Values reflect a person’s sense of right and wrong.

“Equal rights for all”, “Excellence deserves admiration”, and “People should be treated with respect and dignity” are representative of our values. Our values influence our attitudes and behavior in client service.
